Hi, I’m Dr. Sami Leung, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in good standing with both the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Saskatchewan Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (SANP) dedicated to helping individuals achieve optimal health by addressing the root causes of their concerns. My practice is built on a foundation of evidence-based naturopathic medicine, incorporating lifestyle medicine, nutraceuticals, and advanced lab testing when applicable. I believe in a personalized approach—no two patients are the same, so their treatment plans shouldn’t be either.
My Background & Education
Growing up in Saskatoon, I developed a deep appreciation for movement, health, and the power of natural medicine. My journey in healthcare began at the University of Saskatchewan, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours, graduating with great distinction and a minor in psychology. My Honours Thesis focused on understanding the physical activity experiences of girls who are newcomers to Canada, which gave me valuable insight into the connections between movement, mental well-being, and overall health.
From there, my passion for integrative medicine led me to pursue my Naturopathic Doctorate at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine – Boucher Campus in New Westminster. Here, I was trained in a variety of natural and functional medicine approaches, including clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, and mind-body therapies. My studies reinforced my belief that true health comes from treating the whole person—not just symptoms.
My Approach to Naturopathic Medicine
At Saskatoon Naturopathic Medicine Clinic, I focus on working with patients seeking support for cognitive health, digestive health, hormonal and women’s health-including pre-conception, pregnancy and postpartum- pediatric concerns, gastrointestinal health, fatigue, general health and pain management. I take a holistic and science-backed approach to help my patients feel their best.
When I’m not working with patients, I love staying active and spending time with my husband, our daughter, and our dog. Whether it’s hiking, practicing martial arts, or simply getting outside, movement has always been a big part of my life. My background as a martial arts coach has also shaped my approach to health—helping people build strength, confidence, and resilience in both body and mind.
